The Main river by Boat & Bike

You’ll find possibly the prettiest section of the Main cycle path between Bamberg and Aschaffenburg. Boasting UNESCO world heritage sites, local micro-breweries, steep vineyards producing famous wines and hearty food, this region caters to all tastes. Furthermore, the cycle paths here are well built and maintained and mostly flat - so riding your bike here is very pleasurable, and can be wholeheartedly recommended to both novice and expert cyclists. Day 1 Arrival in Bamberg
Embarkation at 4 p.m. - after which you should definitely go explore this UNESCO world heritage and beer-crazy city.

Day 6 Boat trip, Wertheim - Freudenberg, 30 km/19 mi
In Wertheim you’ve reached the region of Baden, where Castle Freudenburg towers over your destination.

Day 7 Freudenberg-Aschaffenburg, 50 km/31 mi, boat trip
Miltenberg is the romantic highlight of your day. You’ll spot the impressive Johannisburg castle in Aschaffenburg from far afield. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner on the ship as it takes you to Frankfurt.

Day 8 Departure
After breakfast, your tour "The Main river by Boat & Bike" concludes. Disembarkation until 9 a.m.

• If you choose to wear a helmet, we recommend using your own due to the variety of head sizes and shapes and for hygienic reasons.

The booking process

Arrival to "The Main river by Boat & Bike":

• Parking
  Car park Georgendamm 2a (very close to the city center and the berth), approx. 18 € per day. Alternatively P+R on the outskirts of the city with low-cost parking spots and good bus services (e.g. P+R Breitenau or P+R Heinrichsdamm).

• Arrival by train:
  Bamberg train station, appox. 2,5 km to the berth, price per taxi approx. 15 €.

• Arrival by plane:
  Airport Frankfurt, by train to Bamberg, duration approx. 2.45, 1 x changes, cost from approx. 60 €.

Return transfer:

• Under your own steam by train, duration approx. 3 h, no changes, cost from approx. 40 €

Personal bikes:
On request you can take your own bike, depending on capacity. Please note, however, that your bike will be loaded twice a day with many others on and off the ship and damage can not be ruled out. A liability for this can not be assumed. We advise you to book one of the good rental bikes.

Perfectly looked after:
During your tour, we are available between 8 am and 8 pm, 7 days a week. We are happy to help with any kind of problems you might be having. You will find this emergency number in your travel documents.
